I teach 3rd grade gifted at Buchanan Elementary School located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This is my seventh year teaching at Buchanan. I have taught every grade from Pre-K - 8th grade gifted education. This is my 27th year teaching in the Gifted Program and 32 total years.
I received my degree in Elementary Education, with a Master's Degree in Reading and a Specialist Degree in Curriculum with additional certifications in Gifted, Early Childhood Development and Technology.
I enjoy teaching and don't limit it to the classroom. I teach reading workshops to teachers during the summer traveling around the USA however, I didn't teach this past summer.
Instead we traveled to Arizona to visit my son, daughter-in-law, and three grandchildren. We took them to Carlsbad, CA and went to the LegoLand
Attraction along with other attractions in the San Diego area.
A few years ago I attended Confratute, a Gifted Conference, in Connecticut. My husband (Charles Brady) joined me and we traveled across the east coast visiting and touring many historical sites. Those were wonderful experiences.
I took a few sewing classes on my new Bernina sewing machine. I also did some smocking for my granddaughter. She is so Cute. I have seven grandchildren and enjoy playing with them. Their ages range from 11 to 2 years. Their names are Connor, Kai, Cameron, Sho, Jack, Alan and baby Kaitlyn.
I also enjoy reading, watching movies with friends, gardening, cycling, and traveling around with my husband (and TBone, our dog :).
