Grammy Award-winning jazz singer Ms. Patti Austin visited Buchanan Elementary on  March 26, 2009.  She held a workshop for choir students from BES and McKinley High School.  Both choirs performed for Ms. Austin. 
     The event was sponsored by the Baton Rouge Chapter of LINKS Inc., a service organization, the Baton Rouge Arts Council and McKinley High School’s Performing Arts Department.
